New figures from the Neilsen survey, released as part of a Soil Association market briefing, show that the demand for organic products is up 3.2 per cent in the past few years, and now makes up 1.3 per cent of the £96bn UK food and drink sector.
The UK’s organic grocery market continues to outperform the non-organic market despite shopping budgets coming under ever increasing pressure with 83% of UK households now buying some form of organic.
The new survey shows that even in financially difficult times we still understand the importance of what we eat and the health benefits that come with organic produce.
